Let's Do This Differently

One of the things we are doing at Connection Works is taking a stand for honoring and connecting to our humanity at work. Not because it will lead to greater productivity but because its the right thing to do. Sure, our humanity is messy - and that's the wonder and power of it.  Let's get really good at connecting to our humanity and see what happens. 

To explore how we can honor and connect to our humanity at work, we're hosting a series conversations about how we can Do This Differently where we'll take a dive into how the world demands that we think about work and life (why are these always talked about separately?) through different frames. None of us alone has the answers, but together, we can find our way there.

First up: Employee Engagement

 

We're APPROACHING Employee ENGAGEMENT ALL WRONG. 

What else can we conclude? Think about it: Gallup has been surveying employees for nearly two decades – their findings, as we all know, aren't very encouraging. As the numbers show, a lot of people are still really disengaged. Millions are spent on consultants, surveys, programs and trainings. And what's changed? Not much. 

We all know the adage: the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So, let's do employee engagement differently. Or maybe, even, dare we - just stop

This feels like heresy to suggest, especially because we care deeply about creating workplaces that are about more than paychecks.  Yet we feel must stop and think together about the purpose of and approach to employee engagement.

Whether you are a leader or an employee in your organization, we invite you to join us in an exploration of employee engagement and how to do it differently – if we do it at all.

Let's upend the reasoning, assumptions, and questions (and, thus, the answers) about employee engagement. Together, let's talk about how to do this differently.

Details

In order to give as many people as possible an opportunity to join this conversation, we're going to start this conversation series in the virtual space. We’ll meeting via the super easy to use Zoom video conference platform. In order to support having a generative conversation, we will need a minimum of 6 people for each session, and will cap each at 15.

COST

Pay what you believe is a fair value. It's our goal to create a space in which you find value - whatever that looks like. For that reason, we will be asking people to make a contribution that's in line with the value they feel they are taking away from the conversation. This will allow us to continue to hold these Do It Differently conversations.
